How to create a wireless profile in windows XP using Wireless Zero Configuration utility

  1. Click on Start, Control Panel, Network Connections.
  2. Right click on the Wireless Network Connection on your computer and select Properties (Figure 1).

  1. In the Wireless Network Connection Properties box, click on Wireless Networks tab. Make sure that "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings" is selected (Figure 2). Click on Add...

  1. In the Wireless Network Properties box, do the following (Figure3):
    • In the Network name (SSID): box, type: GoToros
    • In the Wireless network key section, for Network Authentication, select Open from the drop down menu, and for Data Encryption, select Disabled from the drop down menu.
    • Click on OK and close all the dialogue boxe's.

  1. Your computer will connect to the wireless network GoToros automatically if you are close to any wireless hotspots on campus.
