How to configure Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 3A Mini PCI card with LEAP protocol to work with CSUDH wireless network
This configuration and instruction has been tested with Intel PROSet utility version 7.1.2.0 and Intel driver version 1.2.2.8. If you do not have the latest driver and utility please download it from Intel’s web site at http://www.intel.com
1. Open the Intel PROSet utility that was installed in your computer by clicking on Settings, Control Panel, Intel PROSet (Figure 1)

2. Click on Networks tab and click on Add (Figure 2).

3. In the Profile Wizard: Step 1 of 1 screen (Figure 3) do the following: · Under General Settings, Profile Name type a name, such as csudh wireless network. · Under Network Name (SSID), type the name of the wireless network that you are trying to connect. If you are a student, type student and if you are a faculty/staff, type staff. · Under Operating Mode, make sure Infrastructure is selected. · Click on the check box next to Enable Cisco Client eXtensions. · Click on Next.

4. In the Profile Wizard: Step 2 of 2 screen (Figure 4), do the following: · In the Security Settings box, under Network Authentication, chose Open · Under Data Encryption, chose WEP · In the 802.1x Settings, click on the check box next to 802.1x Enabled · Chose LEAP in the Authentication drop down box. · Click on Configure

5. In the Leap settings window that pops up either to the right or left of the profile wizard window (Figure 5), do the following: · Check the box for Save User Credentials if it is not already checked · In the User Name box, type your student id if you are a student and your Active Directory/E-mail username if you are a faculty/staff · In the Password box, type your appropriate password · Click on Close<< on the Profile wizard window to close the Leap Settings window · Click on Finish to close the Profile wizard window and to go back to the Intel PROSet window.

6. At this point all the configuration is done. If you are close to the wireless network, you will be connected automatically. You can also try to connect manually by clicking on the profile name and clicking on Connect button. If you are connected successfully, you will see a small antenna with beaming icon next to your profile name (Figure 6).
